HUFS Receives 'Excellent' Rating for 2022 University Career Exploration Camp
Operation of Customized Career Exploration Program Introducing Future Promising New Jobs
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The AI Education Center at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies announced on the 14th that it received a "Very Excellent" rating in the final evaluation of the 2022 University Career Exploration Camp project.
The 2022 University Career Exploration Camp project is a youth career experience initiative led by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, aimed at providing high-quality career experience programs to help resolve the career experience gap among students in underserved areas. This year, the final evaluation was conducted for 20 universities.
The HUFS AI Education Center developed and operated a high-level "SW & AI Career Experience Education" program by utilizing a software volunteer group composed of enrolled students. Along with this, they created standardized lesson plans for each program and expanded career exploration programs targeting alternative schools and students from regions with fewer career exploration opportunities, earning high praise from students.
In line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, they developed career experience programs in five software and AI-related fields under the theme of customized career exploration programs introducing "future promising new jobs": metaverse and VR (virtual reality) & AR (augmented reality), artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), smart farms, and game coding.
They also provided opportunities to explore personal career interests with professional experts, university professors, and university student mentors, as well as time to learn about various careers and jobs, university departments, and campus life.
Professor Do Ilcheol, who oversees the University Career Exploration Camp project, said, "To fulfill the responsibility of educational institutions to coexist as partners in local communities through the social return of knowledge and technology, we will continue to provide high-quality programs utilizing university infrastructure to strengthen basic digital literacy and contribute to reducing information deprivation."
