On the 10th (local time), Yoo Hae-ran shot 6 under par in the 7th round of the LPGA Qualifying (Q) Series held at Highland Oaks Golf Course (par 72) in Dothan, Alabama, USA, to leap to the lead (25 under par 477 strokes). This tournament is the ‘college entrance exam’ that grants tickets to join the LPGA Tour next year. Through a total of 8 rounds, the top 20 receive full cards, and those within 45th place receive conditional cards.
Starting from a 3-stroke behind tied for 2nd place, Yoo Hae-ran boasted a perfect play with 6 birdies and no bogeys. After making stepping-stone birdies on holes 2, 4, and 6, she created momentum by making consecutive birdies again on holes 8 and 9. In the back nine, she maintained pars on 6 holes and added a birdie on the 16th hole (par 4). Rising to a 2-stroke lead, she seized the chance to become the top qualifier for the second consecutive year following Anna Lin last year.
