Microsoft Korea Launches Two New Surface Products
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Microsoft Korea officially launched the new Surface series 'Surface Pro 9' and 'Surface Laptop 5' on the 7th and announced its market entry strategy for Korea.
The 'Surface Pro 9' is released in two versions: a Wi-Fi model equipped with Intel 12th generation processors and a 5G model equipped with the Microsoft SQ 3 processor based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The Intel Evo platform-based Surface Pro 9 boasts the highest performance among Pro devices and is optimized for mobile workers with high work intensity.
The 'Surface Laptop 5' features Intel Evo platform-based 12th generation processors and Thunderbolt 4 ports, delivering performance more than 50% stronger than previous models. Available in 13.5-inch and 15-inch sizes, the Surface Laptop 5 enhances security performance through Windows Hello and the built-in security features of Windows 11, supporting easy and fast login with biometric recognition.
On the same day, Oh Seongmi, head of the Modern Work Business Team at Microsoft Korea, also announced Microsoft’s analysis of future work trends and the Surface market entry strategy for Korea based on these insights.
She explained five major challenges organizations must address: ▲ the paradox of hybrid work, which desires face-to-face collaboration but hopes to maintain remote work options even after the end of COVID-19 ▲ talent acquisition and retention amid labor market changes ▲ cost reduction considerations alongside rapid scaling and digital service launches ▲ maintaining security in complex hybrid environments ▲ investment in digital devices due to the creation of hybrid work environments.
