View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Seoul City has prepared safety measures in anticipation of street cheering events ahead of the third group stage match against Portugal in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, scheduled for the 3rd. From 9 PM, the Sejong Center bus stop will be temporarily closed, and subway lines 2, 3, and 5 will operate until 3 AM to accommodate citizens returning home.
On the 2nd, Seoul City announced that, similar to the first and second street cheering events, a comprehensive on-site situation room will be operated, and cooperation with related agencies such as Jongno District Office, police, and fire department will be maintained to manage crowds, control traffic, and provide emergency rescue support. Due to the ongoing cold weather, Seoul City urged citizens participating in the cheering events to prepare thoroughly with warm clothing, gloves, blankets, and other cold-weather gear.
In preparation for patients suffering from hypothermia due to the cold wave, the emergency shelter space, which was operated for 10 people during the second match, will be expanded to accommodate up to 80 people. Four connected tents will be set up on the west side of the King Sejong statue in Gwanghwamun Square, equipped with heating devices, and medical personnel will be stationed on-site. The organizers will also prepare hot packs and other supplies.
Seoul City will temporarily close two bus stops at Sejong Center from 9 PM, when crowds are expected to gather, until the last train operation, in preparation for the street cheering event for the 2022 Qatar World Cup match against Portugal.

All bus routes passing through these stops will pass without stopping. Subway Line 5 may also pass through Gwanghwamun Station without stopping if platform congestion levels require it.
There will be no extension of the last bus service in Seoul. However, all 14 late-night bus routes will operate normally, with increased dispatch between 2 and 3 AM in downtown areas such as Gwanghwamun. Bus routes passing through Gwanghwamun and City Hall include N16, N26, N37, N51, N62, N73, and N75.
Seoul City announced that after the Portugal match ends, a total of 31 additional train services will be operated until 3 a.m. the next day at City Hall Station on Line 2, Gyeongbokgung Station on Line 3, and Gwanghwamun Station on Line 5.

Safety personnel at four stations near the event venue, including Gwanghwamun Station, will be deployed at four times the usual number (48 personnel compared to the usual 12). Measures such as managing pedestrian flow to prevent crowding and inspecting subway facilities will continue to ensure station safety.
If roads are closed as they were during the first match, bus routes passing through those roads will be rerouted via nearby roads, and advance notices will be provided inside buses and at bus stops.

Returning personal mobility devices within a 700-meter radius of Gwanghwamun Square is prohibited. To prevent pedestrian accidents caused by illegally parked vehicles, the city and district offices will jointly conduct intensive enforcement against parking violations in the Gwanghwamun area.
