Sky News and The Times reported on the 1st that during the home game of the NBA's Boston Celtics on the 30th of last month (local time), the audience both cheered and booed Prince William and his wife.
According to reports, when the announcer introduced Prince William and his wife, most of the crowd welcomed them, but some booed and shouted "USA".
Prince William, who is on a US tour, plans to present the 'Earthshot' Prize he established in Boston and meet US President Joe Biden in Washington. The Earthshot Prize, created by Prince William in 2020, is an environmental award given for innovative ideas that solve Earth's problems.
This is the first visit of Prince William and his wife to the US since 2014. However, the schedule was somewhat overshadowed by a royal racism issue that arose just before their arrival in the US.
Susan Hussey, who is also Prince William's godmother, resigned the next day after causing controversy by repeatedly asking a Black participant at a Buckingham Palace event, "Where are you really from?"
