On the morning of the same day, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that the construction of Yangsan 2nd Bridge, promoted as part of the Yangsan Industrial Complex regeneration project, was completed ahead of schedule and will be fully opened to facilitate smooth logistics transportation and alleviate habitual traffic congestion during commuting hours.
According to Gyeongsangnam-do, the Yangsan Industrial Complex regeneration project is a project to renovate aging infrastructure such as the construction of Yangsan 2nd Bridge, parking lot maintenance, park creation, and road maintenance within the complex.
Since 2016, a total project cost of 45.1 billion KRW has been invested, including 20 billion KRW from the national government, 6 billion KRW from the provincial government, and 19.1 billion KRW from the city government.
Yangsan 2nd Bridge was constructed with a project cost of 17.3 billion KRW to strengthen the competitiveness of the aging Yangsan Industrial Complex. It is 204 meters long, 22.5 meters wide, and has four lanes for two-way traffic.
The bridge crosses Yangsancheon from the intersection in front of the Goryeo Steel Yusan Factory within the Yangsan Industrial Complex adjacent to Yusan Bridge, connecting to Yangsan Wire Rope, and is directly linked to National Route 35 through a connecting road that will be newly established.
The province expects that the opening of Yangsan 2nd Bridge will improve the flow of vehicles entering and exiting the Yangsan Industrial Complex.
It is anticipated that once the reconstruction of Yangsan Bridge, promoted as the second phase of Nationally Supported Local Road 60, is completed in 2024, traffic congestion in the Yangsan Industrial Complex area will be alleviated together with Yangsan 2nd Bridge.
