Chungnam Special Inspection of 'Multi-use Facilities' During Fine Dust Seasonal Management Period
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will conduct special inspections of indoor air quality at multi-use facilities within the region during the fine dust seasonal management period.
The province announced on the 30th that from next month until March of next year, it will inspect the indoor air quality of 170 multi-use facilities, including underground shopping centers, libraries, movie theaters, large-scale stores, and daycare centers, during the fine dust seasonal management period.
The inspection team will check whether ventilation systems in multi-use facilities are operating properly and whether legal obligations such as maintaining the fine particulate matter (PM-2.5) standards are being met.
They will also focus on whether proper management is being carried out to maintain indoor air quality.
Facilities used by vulnerable groups to health, such as daycare centers where fine dust management is crucial, will be inspected flexibly considering administrative conditions such as COVID-19.

A provincial official said, “Since people mainly stay indoors during winter, managing indoor air quality is more important than ever. Especially in winter, when high concentrations of fine dust frequently occur, managers of multi-use facilities should pay close attention to indoor air quality management, such as properly operating ventilation systems.”
