Samsung Heavy Industries Wins 330 Billion KRW Contract for Samsung Electronics Semiconductor Plant Construction
Total Construction Orders Accumulated to 762.1 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 29th that it has secured part of the construction work for Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek Semiconductor Plant (P3L Ph3 FAB building finishing work).
The contract amount is 330 billion KRW, which is 5.0% of last year's sales.
Samsung Heavy Industries had initially signed the contract for the P3L Ph3 FAB building finishing work on April 25. The company explained that the revised contract amount corresponds to the disclosure threshold, hence the announcement.
Since starting pilot construction such as the EUV factory in 2020, Samsung Heavy Industries is currently carrying out finishing work for the P3L Ph2 (upper west side), Ph3 (lower east side), and Ph4 (upper east side) FAB buildings. EUV refers to the process of drawing semiconductor circuit patterns using extreme ultraviolet light.
