[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education is promoting a Korean language education training program that invites middle and high school students from 32 countries to broaden their understanding of the Korean language and Korean culture.
The Ministry of Education announced that from the 28th of this month to the 2nd of next month, the "2022 Overseas Youth Korean Language Education Training" will be held at locations including Incheon Hana Global Campus.
The overseas youth Korean language education training began in 2019 targeting youth in the ASEAN region to increase interest in the Korean language and activate Korean language education. In response to the growing demand for Korean language education, the number of participating countries has been expanded annually, and this year, youth from around the world have been selected as participants.
This training program has prepared various activities to help participating students improve their Korean language skills and broaden their awareness of Korean history and culture. It includes level-based Korean language lectures using overseas elementary and secondary Korean language textbooks, and presentations appreciating Korean literary works. Special lectures and experiential activities on Korean history and culture desired by the participants will also be conducted, along with a musical performance based on King Sejong's creation of Hangul.
