The event was attended by Dongmyung University President Jeon Ho-hwan, Busan Social Workers Association President Yoon Hae-bok, Nam-gu Senior Welfare Center Director Park Si-hoo, directors of 11 mental health welfare centers in the Busan area, and heads of mental health rehabilitation facilities, who encouraged the students.
During the event, first-year students participated in a speech contest to enhance sensitivity to social issues, and second-year students held an idea contest to strengthen practical skills for social workers.
Third-year students competed in a contest to enhance capabilities for mobilizing social welfare resources, while fourth-year students held a portfolio contest to strengthen employment skills in social welfare and took part in the social worker oath ceremony.
At the oath ceremony, fourth-year students pledged to cultivate the ethical consciousness of social work professionals and committed themselves to their roles as social welfare experts serving the nation and society.
On this day, the Department of Social Welfare also signed industry-academia cooperation agreements with 11 mental health-related institutions in the Busan area, including Nam-gu Mental Health Welfare Center, BH Hospital Social Work Office, Sasang-gu Mental Health Welfare Center, Soteria House, Suyeong-gu Mental Health Welfare Center, Ami Mental Health Center, Busanjin-gu Mental Health Welfare Center, Chamsari Clubhouse, Comnet House, Hanmirae Social Rehabilitation Center, and Haeundae-gu Mental Health Welfare Center.
According to this industry-academia cooperation, the two parties agreed to collaborate on mutual exchange, community development, student education, research, and personnel exchange necessary for industry-academia cooperation.
