GS Retail Awards 80 Million KRW in Scholarships to 46 Consumer Studies Majors
Consumer Leader Scholarship Program Supports 647 Recipients with 950 Million Won Over 14 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] GS Retail announced on the 25th that it has awarded a total of 80 million KRW in scholarships to 46 students, including 36 undergraduate students majoring in Consumer Studies and 10 graduate students.
Since 2009, GS Retail has been conducting the "Consumer Leader Scholarship Program" to nurture experts in the consumer field. Over the past 14 years, it has provided approximately 950 million KRW in scholarships to 647 students from 26 universities.
Since 2018, it has also been running the "Content Leader Scholarship Program." As a TV home shopping operator, it awards scholarships to outstanding talents related to the broadcasting industry to support the development of the industry. Every July, recipients are selected and scholarships are provided twice: in the second half of the year and the first half of the following year. Including the 46 selected this year, a total of 58 million KRW in scholarships have been awarded to 728 students from 36 universities so far.
