At the meeting, various measures were proposed and reviewed regarding winter preparedness in each sector, including road snow removal, safety management measures in agriculture and livestock sectors, safety management for vulnerable groups during cold waves, and measures to prevent pipe freezing, as well as traffic control and rescue operations during heavy snowfall.
Earlier, on the 14th, the county held a meeting with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Gyeongnam Province to inspect preemptive measures for heavy snow and cold waves, safety measures for structures vulnerable to snow accumulation, the status of securing snow removal equipment and materials, the installation and operation status of snow removal forward bases and automatic snow removal devices, and safety measures for habitual freezing sections.
Additionally, the county designated the period from the 15th of last month to March 15, 2023, as the winter natural disaster countermeasure period and established a disaster response plan to protect the lives and property of residents.
Considering weather conditions as well as normal times, a five-stage (preparation, preemptive measures, emergency levels 1 to 3) situation management system is maintained from the preliminary warning stage for proactive preparedness, and in the event of a warning equivalent to an emergency level, joint emergency duty by collaborating departments and related agencies will be conducted according to each stage.
