Gochang-gun Hosts 'Lifelong Learning Festival' at Youth Training Center
[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 24th that it held the ‘Gochang-gun Lifelong Learning Festival’ at the Gochang-gun Youth Training Center, attended by about 200 lifelong learners, instructors, and related personnel.
This event mainly featured an exhibition of learning stories from lifelong learning programs operated throughout the county this year and an exhibition of over 250 learning achievement works. It also included program promotion experience booths, lifelong learning commemorative events, adult literacy education award ceremonies, and integrated completion ceremonies, providing an opportunity to share learning achievements with residents and motivate learning.
The lifelong learning commemorative event began with a pre-performance by the lifelong learning club ‘String Ensemble,’ followed by watching a video containing Gochang-gun’s educational policy vision and lifelong learning achievements, and included adult literacy education award and completion ceremonies.
Additionally, eight types of program promotion and experience events were prepared, such as making baekhyang fruit vinegar, mold castle lantern making, and natural dye stencil experiences, which received great responses.
In particular, about 50 adult literacy education calligraphy exhibition works, completed by elderly people who had difficulty reading and writing but learned and mastered Hangul, received praise for “each Hangul character containing the pure heart and passion of the elderly for learning,” moving the viewers deeply.
County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “I will transform Gochang-gun into a place of learning so that learning in daily life becomes an enjoyable play and can change the community and society. I hope this becomes an opportunity for more residents to participate in lifelong learning, and I will continue to take an interest and actively support lifelong learning so that residents can lead happy lives.”
