'Korean version of SCHD' ACE US High Dividend S&P ETF Lowers Fees
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] Korea Investment Trust Management announced on the 24th that it will reduce the total expense ratio of the 'ACE US High Dividend S&P Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF)' from 0.50% per year to 0.06% starting today. According to the Korea Exchange, this is the lowest fee among dividend stock ETFs listed domestically as of the 23rd.
The total expense ratio is also at the same level as the US representative dividend stock ETF 'Schwab US Dividend Equity (SCHD)', which tracks the same underlying index, the 'Dow Jones U.S. Dividend 100 Price Return Index', at 0.06%. SCHD is the most preferred overseas dividend stock ETF among domestic investors. According to the Korea Securities Depository on the 21st, domestic investors have net purchased approximately $144.65 million (about 196.3 billion KRW) worth of SCHD since the beginning of the year. This is the highest among overseas dividend stock ETFs and ranks eighth among overseas equity ETFs.
Kim Chanyoung, Head of Digital ETF Marketing at Korea Investment Trust Management, stated, "We have identified a significant increase in investors investing in the 'ACE US High Dividend S&P ETF' through pension accounts from a long-term perspective," adding, "Since costs greatly affect returns in long-term investments, we have reduced the total expense ratio to maximize investors' long-term returns."
Kim also added, "When investing directly in ETFs listed overseas, there are inconveniences such as the hassle of foreign currency exchange and the inability to invest through pension accounts," and said, "With this fee reduction, domestic investors can conveniently invest in the US representative dividend stock ETF."
