Arts Council Conducts 'Eco-friendly Play Education' to Promote Children's Rights
Collaboration among the Rural Development Administration, Jeollanam-do Environmental Industry Promotion Agency, Korea Power Exchange, and Korea Creative Content Agency

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Korea Arts & Culture Education Service announced on the 23rd that, together with regional public institutions such as the Rural Development Administration, Jeollanam-do Environmental Industry Promotion Agency, Korea Power Exchange, and Korea Creative Content Agency, it conducted an "Agricultural Experience and Eco-friendly Play Education" program for children in care at Gangjin Jabiwon, a child welfare facility in the Jeonnam region.
The education held on the 21st was promoted with the aim of enhancing local elementary school students' interest in agriculture, fostering an eco-friendly consensus, and promoting children's rights to play, by collaborating with problem-solving platform institutions in the Jeonnam region, including the Arts Council, each reflecting their unique characteristics.
The participating institutions conducted programs for Gangjin Jabiwon elementary students, including tomato theory and experiential play, making snacks using tomatoes, DIY tumbler decoration, and screening an environmental puppet show video to promote environmental protection awareness and practice.
Additionally, they provided support worth approximately 2 million KRW in food and daily necessities needed by Gangjin Jabiwon.
The Arts Council is carrying out various social contribution activities this year to spread the value of environmental protection in local communities and promote children's rights. In particular, in the first half of this year, they co-produced the environmental puppet show "Everyone's Sea" with the Korea Environment Corporation Gwangju Jeonnam Jeju Environmental Headquarters and Good Neighbors Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, delivering environmental protection messages through performances mediated by art.

An official from the Arts Council said, "We hope that this cooperative activity will lead to various win-win activities linking the unique resources of each institution," and added, "The Arts Council will continue to actively strive to practice ESG management that local residents can feel."
