Miryang City Rolls Up Sleeves to Resolve Citizen Inconveniences
4th Quarter Report Meeting on Improvement Tasks for Citizen Inconveniences Held

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] On the 23rd, Miryang City in Gyeongnam held a 4th quarter report meeting on the improvement tasks of citizen inconveniences, which are being promoted as part of the ‘Open Citizen Happiness Project’ to realize the ‘Yeongnam Hub City Miryang’ during the 8th elected administration.
The citizen inconvenience improvement tasks are policies for public officials to proactively identify and resolve inconveniences that citizens may experience in their daily lives. From October 2020 to 2022, a total of 252 cases were identified, with 80 cases completed.
In the 4th quarter, public officials identified a total of 28 tasks, including ▲improving the appearance of old murals around the Comprehensive Sports Complex ▲replacing public restrooms at Sanwoe-myeon Sports Park ▲notifying the stock status of Miryang Love Gift Certificates ▲installing traffic lights in front of Gyodong Tower ▲improving bus route maps for citizens and tourists ▲painting driving guide lines at Sinchon Five-way Intersection. These will be reviewed by departments and promoted as soon as possible.
In the 3rd quarter, inconveniences closely related to daily life were also improved. A total of 12 projects were completed, including ▲operating a free tool rental service ▲removal of old clothes collection boxes ▲road expansion at the entrance section of Lotte Invens ▲introduction of bus time information service at bus stops ▲installation of auxiliary markings in parking spaces exclusively for the disabled ▲installation of crosswalks near Nambu Senior Center ▲parking lot suspension work on vacant land ▲installation of lighting facilities at the crosswalk entrance to Namcheon Park, greatly contributing to alleviating citizens’ inconveniences.
