Cheering Event for '2022 Qatar World Cup' to Be Held at Suwon World Cup Stadium
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will hold a cheering event with the Red Devils at Suwon World Cup Stadium.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that it plans to open the main stadium of Suwon World Cup Stadium on the 24th and 28th of this month and the 3rd of next month, when the Korean national team’s Group H matches of the 2022 Qatar World Cup will be held, so that residents can participate in the cheering.
The province will broadcast live the first group stage match against Uruguay on the 24th at 10 p.m. on the stadium’s big screen and pray for the victory of the Taegeuk Warriors together with the Red Devils, the football team’s cheering squad branch at the venue.
Cheering events on the big screen will also be held for the match against Ghana on the 28th of this month and the match against Portugal on the 3rd of next month.
Governor Kim Dong-yeon posted on Facebook, “We will prepare a safe yet passionate cheering event with the Red Devils,” and encouraged, “Let’s gather at Suwon World Cup Stadium, a place where we can safely watch the games and enjoy the festival of the world together.”
Suwon World Cup Stadium, where the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup was held, has hosted cheering events during major national team matches such as the 2006 Germany World Cup, 2010 South Africa World Cup, 2014 Brazil World Cup, and 2018 Russia World Cup.
