A Drunken Man in His 30s Threatens Passersby and Climbs Streetlight Shouting... Sent to Prosecution
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 30s who threatened passersby while intoxicated and caused a disturbance by climbing onto a streetlight has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 21st, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent Mr. A (33), who is accused of assault and violating the Minor Offenses Act (causing anxiety), to the prosecution without detention.
Mr. A is suspected of threatening or assaulting passersby with a soju bottle in front of a restaurant in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, around 5 a.m. on the 15th, and climbing onto a nearby streetlight while shouting.
Police, who responded to a citizen report, persuaded Mr. A to come down and arrested him in the act.

A police official stated, "Mr. A was heavily intoxicated at the time of the crime and exercised his right to remain silent," adding, "We identified the facts of the crime by reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage."
