[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Model Solution, an advanced prototype company under Hankook & Company Group (Hankook Tire Group), announced on the 20th that it held the award ceremony for the industry-academia cooperation project ‘MOA’ program conducted with students from the Department of Industrial Design at Hongik University on the 16th at the Model Solution integrated business site in the Ojeong Industrial Complex, Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, and unveiled the final winning works.
MOA, conducted by Model Solution, is an award program that realizes creative and innovative design ideas of domestic and international industrial design major university students who will lead future design into ‘high fidelity prototype’ products. It started in 2016 as a social contribution initiative and supports outstanding industrial design students from the United States and Korea.
This year, MOA was conducted with students from the Department of Industrial Design at Hongik University, selecting three works with creative and innovative designs among various design ideas as award-winning pieces.
The first work is ‘The First Layer,’ a display format optimized for the work-from-home environment, a working style that has become more familiar through the COVID-19 pandemic era. The second work is ‘APOC,’ a modular interior system idea that implements various digital contents in a cube-shaped device, allowing optimized spatial composition by freely arranging it with sound, lighting, and a wireless charging cradle.
Lastly, ‘Ren? (Ren?),’ an augmented reality product that provides a new viewing experience for domestic and international famous musical audiences by offering theater guidance and check-in, viewing information, and maximizing audiovisual AR effects of performances, was selected. Notably, the business concept features turning straps provided differently for each content such as musicals into souvenirs to encourage repeated use.
