On the 18th (local time), No Seung-yeol surged with an 8-under par on the second day of the PGA Tour RSM Classic (total prize money $8.1 million) held at Sea Island Resort in St. Simons Island, Georgia, USA, rising to a tie for 7th place (10-under par 132). Collin Morikawa, Andrew Putnam, and Harry Higgs (all from the USA) are tied for the lead (12-under par 130), fiercely competing for the championship.
This tournament alternates the first and second rounds between the Seaside Course (par 70, 7,005 yards) and the Plantation Course (par 72, 7,060 yards) within Sea Island Resort, with the third and fourth rounds played on the Seaside Course. It is the last official PGA Tour event of the year. Starting tied for 46th place, 6 strokes behind the leader, No Seung-yeol showcased perfect play on the Plantation Course with 8 birdies and no bogeys. After a thrilling streak of 5 consecutive birdies from holes 4 to 8 on the front nine, he added 3 more birdies on holes 10, 14, and 18 on the back nine. His fairway hit rate of 85.71% and green in regulation rate of 94.44% stood out. He is 2 strokes behind the joint leaders and has a chance for his second career win since his first victory at the Zurich Classic in April 2014.
