Kim Yong's Side After Indictment: "Prosecutor's Indictment Is a Work of Fiction"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The side of Kim Yong, Deputy Director of the Democratic Research Institute, who was indicted and detained on the 8th on charges of receiving illegal election funds exceeding 800 million won around the 20th presidential election primaries, criticized, "The contents of the indictment are nothing but fiction."
Immediately after the prosecution's indictment, Kim's side released a statement saying, "The prosecution's indictment for violation of the Political Funds Act was already planned," conveying this.
"Furthermore, they are writing fictional stories to frame me as an accomplice in Daejang-dong. I will put an end to the prosecution's fictional stories," he added, "I will definitely reveal the truth."
The Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 3 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kang Baek-shin) indicted and detained Kim on the same day on charges of violating the Political Funds Act. Kim is accused of conspiring with former headquarters chief Yoo and lawyer Jeong from April to August last year, before and after the Democratic Party presidential primary, to receive 847 million won in four installments from lawyer Nam under the pretext of presidential election funds. Since his arrest on the 19th of last month, Kim has consistently denied the charges, claiming he never received the money.
