"Tourism Industry Job Fair" Held at Seoul aT Center on 8th-9th
Over 100 Companies Participating Including Hotels and MICE
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The "2022 Tourism Industry Job Fair," hosted by 12 related organizations including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Tourism Organization, Korea Hotel Association, and Korea Tourism Association Central Office, will be held from the 8th to the 9th at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul.
The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 8th that the two-day fair will offer various employment support programs such as recruitment briefings by public institutions and tourism companies, a junior mentor job talk show by tourism companies, and special lectures by tourism leaders.
A total of about 100 companies from sectors including hotels, travel, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) will participate in this fair. On the 8th, three public institutions including the Korea Tourism Organization, Seoul Tourism Foundation, and Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) will hold recruitment briefings by industry, followed on the 9th by companies such as Fairmont Hotel, Ctrip Travel Agency, and Tripbitoz.
Additionally, a job talk show featuring "junior mentors" with less than three years of experience working at travel agencies, hotels, and tourism ventures will share vivid employment and job-related stories from the tourism industry. A special lecture titled "Making Travel a Part of Life, Passion as a Profession" by travel writer and former KBS announcer Son Mina will also be held on the afternoon of the 8th.
The recruitment briefings, talk shows, and special lectures can be watched live on Catch TV, a YouTube channel specializing in employment.
Employment preparation support programs have also been arranged. Five tourism industry associations including the Hotel Association, Interpreter Guide Association, PCO Association, MICE Association, and Korea Casino Industry Tourism Association will provide job and career counseling for job seekers in their respective fields.
The Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office will provide information on government-supported job assistance programs. In addition, various side events such as resume and self-introduction letter consulting, resume photo studio operation, and makeup consulting will be held.
To foster a culture of compliance with labor-related laws in the tourism industry and support job seekers in resolving work-related difficulties, free consultations on labor, human rights, ethics, and other issues that may arise in the workplace will be provided by experts including labor attorneys and lawyers.
Furthermore, from October 17, one-on-one face-to-face interviews will be conducted for job seekers who have expressed their intention to apply by registering their resumes on the fair’s website, as well as for on-site applicants.
