Hyundai Motor revealed on the 8th that Sales Manager Kim Seong-gon of the Masan East Branch located in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, reached a cumulative sales total of 6,000 vehicles as of the closing date on the 12th of last month.
Kim Seong-gon joined Hyundai Motor in 1989. The cumulative sales figure of 6,000 units is a record achieved by only four people since Hyundai Motor began operating the Sales Honor Award System. Kim is the fifth.
The title of 'Sales Master' is the highest honor awarded to outstanding sales employees who have surpassed 5,000 cumulative sales while working at Hyundai Motor sales branches. Kim Seong-gon earned the title of Sales Master in 2018 after achieving 5,000 sales.
He expressed, “I consider it an immense honor to have reached 6,000 cumulative sales,” adding, “When I was a new employee, I visited customers so diligently that the soles of my shoes wore out in a month. The moment I signed my first contract based on trust with a customer is still vivid in my memory. I am grateful to the 6,000 customers I have met and to my colleagues who have always supported and encouraged me.”
He further stated, “Like the saying that dripping water can pierce a rock, my consistent efforts to win customers’ hearts and build trust over a long period were key,” and added, “Sincerity and honesty are my sales secrets.” He also declared, “As a member of Hyundai Motor, which leads the global mobility industry, I will continue to realize the value of customer satisfaction on the front lines of sales with pride and confidence.”
Hyundai Motor operates various award systems such as Sales Honor Awards, National Sales King, and The Class Awards to encourage employees who do their best at sales sites nationwide and to promote healthy sales competition.
The Sales Honor Award System grants titles and prizes upon reaching cumulative sales milestones: ‘Sales Artisan’ at 2,000 units, ‘Sales Expert’ at 3,000 units, ‘Sales Master’ at 4,000 units, and ‘Sales Grandmaster’ at 5,000 units.
The ‘National Sales King’ and ‘The Class Awards’ are events that recognize Hyundai Motor’s top-performing sales employees annually. The ‘National Sales King’ targets the top 1 to 10 employees nationwide based on annual sales volume. ‘The Class Awards’ divides annual sales performance into sales volume brackets and rewards employees in each bracket.
