Jogye Order Labor Committee's Full-Body Prostration for Itaewon Truth Investigation
From the 9th to 11th, from Jogyesa to Itaewon Station
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo Mideum] The Social Labor Committee of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism announced on the 7th that it will conduct the "Itaewon Tragedy Victims Memorial, Wishing for the Recovery of the Injured, Truth Investigation, and Prayer for a Safe World through Prostration on Five Parts of the Body (Ochetuji)."
According to the Social Labor Committee, the Ochetuji will take place for three days from the 9th to the 11th, departing every morning from Jogyesa Temple to the Itaewon Station tragedy site.
The committee stated, "It has been revealed that this tragedy was entirely preventable. The truth must be uncovered and the cause identified. A thorough investigation centered on the victims must be conducted with the utmost respect for the families of the victims."
