National Gwangju Science Museum, 2022 Traveling Science Museum Project Opening
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The National Gwangju Science Museum, together with the National Gwangju Science Museum Supporters Association, announced on the 7th that it opened the '2022 Traveling Science Museum' starting from Naju Dasi Middle School in Jeonnam on the 2nd.
The Traveling Science Museum is a project that provides various science culture experience services to students and residents in areas with limited science cultural facilities, and it is operated based on sponsorship funds from the National Gwangju Science Museum Supporters Association.
This year, it is scheduled to operate over two months targeting about 500 students from 13 schools in 11 regions including Naju, Jeongeup, and Iksan.
As detailed programs, the National Gwangju Science Museum's mobile science vehicle (LuceRium Science School) and mobile astronomical observation vehicle (LuceRium Star Car) visit schools to offer fascinating and fun science experiences such as ▲science shows (robot dance performances, drone experiences) ▲science exhibition viewing ▲astronomical observation ▲block coding education ▲making glass marble kaleidoscopes ▲making light fountain dolphins, and more.
Meanwhile, since 2016, the National Gwangju Science Museum Supporters Association has been continuously conducting not only the 'Traveling Science Museum' but also the science dream tree invitation projects such as 'Science Camp' and 'Closed Day Invitation Events' to reduce the science culture benefit gap in the Honam region's underserved areas. So far, they have visited and invited over 6,700 children, contributing to the spread of science culture.
