'Late Report' Former Yongsan Police Chief Iimjae Arrives at Police Substation 50 Minutes After Itaewon Disaster

On the 4th, the National Police Agency announced that former Chief Lee arrived at the Itaewon Police Substation, located near the scene of the Itaewon disaster, at around 11:05 p.m. on the 29th of last month. The disaster occurred at around 10:15 p.m. that day, meaning he arrived at the scene 50 minutes later.
A police official stated, "Other movements and timeframes are being verified through objective data."
It is known that former Chief Lee was controlling the rally near the Yongsan Presidential Office until 9 p.m. on the day of the disaster. He received a report related to the crush around 9:30 p.m.
According to the police, former Chief Lee reported the situation to Seoul Metropolitan Police Chief Kim Kwang-ho at 11:36 p.m., 1 hour and 21 minutes after the disaster occurred. National Police Chief Yoon Hee-geun received related information at 12:14 a.m. the following day.
