Bank of Korea Expands Support for SMEs Affected by Typhoon Hinnamnor
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] The Bank of Korea announced on the 4th that it will expand the scale of financial support and the scope of beneficiaries for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) affected by Typhoon 'Hinnamno'.
The Bank increased the reserve amount of the financial intermediation support loan limit allocated to the Pohang branch from 50 billion won to 70 billion won, an increase of 20 billion won.
The financial intermediation support loan is a system in which the Bank of Korea supplies funds at a low interest rate of 0.25 to 1.25% to commercial banks to increase loans to SMEs.
In addition, SMEs experiencing indirect difficulties due to delays in the normalization of POSCO's production process were added to the list of beneficiaries for financial support.

The additional beneficiaries include POSCO's secondary suppliers, such as companies that have delivered goods or provided services to POSCO's primary suppliers within the last two years.
