On the 2nd, the county held a launching ceremony and safety and health education for the 2022 autumn and 2023 spring specialized forest fire prevention and suppression team and forest fire watchers at the Agricultural Technology Center's Farmer Education Hall.
At the forest fire launching ceremony, a total of 183 people participated, including 46 specialized forest fire prevention and suppression team members, 137 forest fire watchers, and town and township officials. They read a resolution for a safe Hamyang and chanted slogans, reaffirming their commitment to forest fire prevention.
With the risk of forest fires increasing due to dry weather in autumn and winter, the county has established a comprehensive forest fire prevention plan and will make every effort to prevent forest fires until May 15 of next year.
In particular, to prevent and minimize forest fires, the county plans to carry out forest fire prevention activities such as prohibiting burning in vulnerable areas and forest-adjacent areas, and banning entry of persons carrying fire or flammable materials into the mountains.
County Governor Jin Byeong-young said, “Starting with today's forest fire launching ceremony, we must focus our capabilities on prevention activities during the forest fire prevention period and concentrate on thorough monitoring activities to ensure that not a single forest fire occurs.”
