After the floor strategy meeting that day, Joo met with reporters and said, "The Democratic Party has created a situation where investigations must be entrusted to the police for incidents with multiple casualties, which is very regrettable."
Regarding criticisms that the amendment of the Geomsu Wanbak law has expanded police authority excessively, preventing the police from focusing on their core duties, he responded, "There may be some aspects like that, but I believe experts will evaluate these during the investigation process, incident handling, and recurrence prevention."
On the possibility of amending the Geomsu Wanbak law, he said, "First, we need to manage the situation, then conduct a fact-finding investigation, and afterward organize the problems. Since there are opinions suggesting reverting Geomsu Wanbak to its original state, we will make a comprehensive judgment." He added, "We are always considering what the most rational and trustworthy method for national investigative capabilities would be."

He emphasized, "At this moment, it is important to promptly secure and preserve various pieces of evidence through forced investigations."

He continued, "There have been many precedents where state audits were conducted after investigations into several major incidents were somewhat concluded. Nam Gu-jun, head of the National Investigation Headquarters, was appointed during the previous administration and also worked in the previous administration's Blue House, so I believe he will conduct investigations without considering political advantages or disadvantages."
