The SK Hynix Academic Conference has been held annually since 2013 and has become a major channel for producing the latest in-house technologies and patents. Approximately 800 papers on topics covering all semiconductor fields such as devices, processes, design, and packaging are submitted each year, totaling 6,802 papers over the past 10 years. The number of accepted papers is 2,603, with an acceptance rate of about 38%. According to SK Hynix, the number of papers and acceptance rate are comparable to the world's top three semiconductor conferences: ISSCC, IEDM, and VLSI.
This year, a total of 745 papers were submitted, with 260 papers selected, resulting in an acceptance rate of 35%. Among them, 14 papers received excellent paper awards, including the grand prize, gold, silver, bronze, and encouragement awards. The awards ceremony was held on the last day of the event at the Icheon R&D Center. Prior to the ceremony, a keynote speech on packaging technology was delivered by Professor Tadatomu Suga, Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo.
At the awards ceremony, SK Hynix President Kwak Nojeong said, "It has already been 10 years since the academic conference began. Compared to when it first started, it has made tremendous progress, and the passion of the participating members has remained unchanged." He emphasized the importance of the academic conference, saying, "Working hard is important, but at some point, it is essential to have time to reflect on and discuss the work that has been done."
