[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Choi Moo-kyung, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member (Democratic Party of Korea·Yeosu 4), emphasized on the 2nd during the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education administrative audit that "the establishment of a public alternative education institution in the eastern region is urgently needed."
An alternative education institution refers to a corporation or organization that implements customized programs aimed at preventing school dropout and enhancing school adaptability for students at risk of discontinuing their studies.
The Office of Education has registered and operates seven alternative education institutions and supports them with 84 million won through the education recovery program support project.

Assembly member Choi Moo-kyung stated, "The proportion of out-of-school youth is highest in the eastern region, including Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang," and demanded, "A public alternative school must be established promptly in the eastern region."
