Kia Sold 239,000 Vehicles Domestically and Internationally Last Month, Up 8.6% YoY
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Kia announced on the 1st that it sold 238,660 units domestically and internationally last year. This is an 8.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
In the domestic market, 43,032 units were sold, a 13.7% increase during the same period, and overseas sales reached 195,628 units, up 7.5%. By model, the mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) Sportage was the best-selling with 44,475 units sold.
The best-selling vehicle domestically was the Bongo III with 5,872 units sold. Among passenger cars, the K8 led with 3,613 units, totaling 13,791 units sold. Recreational vehicles (RVs) saw the Sorento as the top seller with 5,127 units, totaling 23,028 units sold. Commercial models sold a total of 6,213 units.

Based on overseas sales volume, the Sportage was the highest with 39,525 units, followed by the Seltos and K3 (Forte). A Kia official stated, "As the semiconductor parts supply disruption is gradually easing, we will expand market share and profitability through increased supply, competitive new model launches, and solid sales strategies."
