It was designated as the first day of the forest tending period, which runs from November 1 to 30.
This year’s event was held under the slogan "Realizing the Era of Forest Renaissance Created by Forestry Workers Together with the Residents," featuring awards for outstanding contributors in the forestry sector, presentations of successful forestry worker cases, and a Forestry Love Unity Festival.
The commemorative event was attended by Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, Kim Jin-bu, Chairman of the Gyeongsangnam-do Council, Hwang Seong-tae, Head of the Western Regional Forest Service, Kang Ju-ho, Head of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Forestry Cooperative, along with about 400 forestry workers from the province.
At the awards ceremony, 29 members of forestry organizations who contributed to the development of forestry in the field and were recognized for enhancing the pride of forestry workers received honors, including Park Hyung-tae and Lee Young-hong, who were awarded the Forest Service Commissioner’s Award.
