Creating a Safe National Park Exploration Environment and Preventing Wildfires Using ICT-Based Equipment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Baegam Office of Naejangsan National Park under the Korea National Park Service (Director Lee Jaedong) announced that from the 28th of this month to the 13th of next month, joint drone patrols will be conducted with the Iksan Forest Aviation Management Office to prevent forest fires and safety accidents during the autumn foliage season.
This activity involves three drones from the Naejangsan Baegam Office in the national park, three drones from the Iksan Forest Aviation Management Office, and 16 drone operators. During peak visitor hours, drones will be used to conduct forest fire patrols and safety accident prevention broadcasting promotions.
Additionally, the two organizations will share operational methods for multipurpose drones (equipped with infrared cameras, broadcasting facilities, emergency supplies delivery, etc.) and will establish a cooperative system and check task distribution to prepare for forest fire and disaster accident situations.
