View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the appointment of Professor Kim Sewon (63) of Catholic University as the president of the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute. The new president's term will be three years, until October 27, 2025.
Newly appointed President Kim Sewon graduated from Korea University with a degree in French literature, earned a master's degree in political science from the same university's graduate school, a master's degree in technology management from the State University of New York, and a doctorate in international trade from Korea University's Graduate School of International Studies.
Having worked as a reporter for the Dong-A Ilbo for 21 years, including serving as a Paris correspondent, President Kim has also been active as an international cultural scholar, consistently publishing related columns and papers, striving to promote Korean culture worldwide. Additionally, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism explained that he served as an invited professor at Korea University and as a professor at Catholic University, exploring cultural sites for many years and nurturing future talents.
