Bio Association Launches Support for Early Entrepreneurs, Hosts '9th BioCube' Event

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The Korea Bio Association announced on the 28th that it jointly hosted the 9th BioCube (Startup Bootcamp) training on the 26th and 27th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, together with Bluepoint Partners, a technology startup specialized accelerator, to support prospective entrepreneurs and startup companies in the bio sector.
BioCube is part of the 'Venture Playground' project launched to create a virtuous investment ecosystem in the bio venture industry. It is an educational program designed to provide practical help in reducing trial and error that prospective entrepreneurs and early-stage startups in the bio field may experience during the initial startup phase.
This program included expert lectures by field, business plan review, sharing of successful startup cases, and mentoring by specialized VCs in the bio sector. On the first day, the 26th, lectures were given by Hye-ryeong Jo, Senior Investment Officer at Bluepoint Partners, on 'How to Write a Business Plan'; Min-gyu Yoo, Patent Attorney at Onyou Patent Law Firm, on 'IP Strategy in the Bio Sector'; and Hwa-seok Seo, Executive Director at Varian Medical Systems Korea, on 'Considerations for Insurance Reimbursement in Digital Health.' One-on-one business plan review mentoring for participants also followed.
On the 27th, a panel talk was held with Lee Seung-gyu, Vice Chairman of the Korea Bio Association as the moderator, featuring Kim Pyeong-gyu, Director of Newine; Lee Jeong-hee, CEO of Olive Healthcare; and Nam Byung-ho, CEO of Herings, who shared successful startup cases as CEOs of bio startups. The event concluded with a lecture on 'Entrepreneurship' by Yong-geon Kim, Vice President of Bluepoint Partners, and one-on-one IR mentoring sessions with specialized venture capitalists (VCs) in the bio sector.
