The Korea Inclusive Finance Agency Holds Non-Face-to-Face Awards Ceremony for Inclusive Finance Idea Contest
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunju Lee] The Korea Inclusive Finance Agency held a non-face-to-face integrated awards ceremony on the 27th for the 'Inclusive Finance Usage Stories and Innovation Ideas Contest.'
The agency hosted the 'Inclusive Finance Usage Stories Contest' and the 'National Innovation Ideas Contest' to spread cases of inclusive finance usage and share various ideas from the public regarding inclusive finance.
The 'Inclusive Finance Usage Stories Contest' received a total of 41 entries from June 2 to August 15, focusing on cases using policy inclusive finance support programs. Based on suitability, authenticity, empathy, and completeness, the entries underwent a first internal and second external expert review, selecting a total of 15 winners: Grand Prize (1), Excellence Award (2), Merit Award (4), and Encouragement Award (8).
The Grand Prize-winning story, "Smile Finance That Brought Dreams and Smiles from Despair," tells of receiving startup and operating funds from Smile Finance after a business bankruptcy, enabling the operation of a restaurant and raising four siblings. The judges unanimously gave high scores for the winner’s steadfast attitude of not giving up amid despair. Other winning stories included various experiences using policy inclusive finance support programs such as Worker’s Sunshine Loan, Sunshine Loan Youth, and financial education. The winning entries will be used for future inclusive finance promotion.
