Hyundai Motor Group Wins Most Awards for 2 Consecutive Years in Leading US Current Affairs Weekly's Evaluation
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 27th that Hyundai Motor, Kia, and Genesis proved their product competitiveness by winning awards in 8 categories at the ‘2022 Auto Awards’ selected by the prominent U.S. news weekly Newsweek.
In particular, Hyundai Motor Group swept 8 categories out of a total of 33, with Hyundai Motor winning 3, Kia 3, and Genesis 2, earning the honor of being the automotive group with the most awards for two consecutive years.
Newsweek evaluated about 200 vehicles this year based on seven categories: ▲performance ▲handling and braking ▲technology ▲storage space ▲seat comfort ▲interior ▲price, and determined the winners in each category through a comprehensive assessment.
The Hyundai Kona was selected as the ‘Best Small Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV)’ due to its excellent fuel efficiency and various advanced driver assistance systems. The Santa Cruz was named ‘Best Small Truck’ again this year, thanks to its spacious cargo area and high product value based on advanced technology.
Hyundai Motor was recognized for its excellent quality and value by being selected as the ‘Most Reasonable Brand’ for two consecutive years. Kia’s Carnival, K5, and Sportage were chosen as the ‘Best Minivan,’ ‘Best Family Car,’ and ‘Editors’ Choice Vehicle,’ respectively.
The Carnival was praised for its superior interior space, various convenience features, and comfortable driving experience, dominating other minivans and maintaining its position as the best minivan for two consecutive years. The K5 received favorable reviews for its comfortable seats, driving convenience, and infotainment system. The Sportage was selected for its bold design and diverse technologies, including a 12.3-inch navigation system, lane-keeping and rear parking assist functions, and smart cruise control.
Genesis was recognized for its brand innovation and advanced technology, being named the ‘Most Innovative Automotive Brand.’ Additionally, the G80 won the ‘Best Midsize Car’ category for its dynamic driving performance and advanced features.
