'Family Service Excellence Essay Contest' Grand Prize Awarded to a Single-Person Household Youth's Work
Announcement of the Selection Results for 15 Award-Winning Works
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Korea Healthy Family Promotion Agency announced on the 27th that a total of 15 entries were selected in the "Excellent Family Support Service Essays and Programs" contest held for users and workers of family centers nationwide.
This contest was held from September 19 to October 10 to widely promote the excellent services of family centers through user essays. A total of 113 entries were received on topics such as support services for single-person households, vulnerable crisis families, multicultural families, as well as care and counseling.
The grand prize was awarded to Jeon Bo-gyeong, a family center user, for her essay "Don't Worry, Dear." It depicted a young single-person household experiencing loneliness and depression due to illness, who regained self-esteem and psychological stability through a social network formation program.
Im Ui-won, who received the excellence award, wrote in her essay "When We Share Together, Love Comes as a Bonus" about the experience of mothers and children participating in the cooperative childcare sharing activities at the community childcare sharing center, sharing bibimbap made from the harvest grown in the sharing center's garden with local elderly residents.

Users and workers selected for excellent cases will be awarded certificates and prizes at the nationwide "Family Center Directors Communication Day" event held on December 8. The excellent essays and programs will be compiled into a casebook and distributed to family centers and related organizations nationwide, and also posted on the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family website.
