Professor Jeong Chan-young of Dong-eui University Selected for Excellence in Regional Research and Development Outcomes

Professor Jeong Chan-young of Dong-Eui University is receiving the Busan Mayor's Award after being selected in the machinery and materials field for the '2022 Busan Regional Research and Development Excellence'.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Professor Jeong Chan-young of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Major in Metallic Materials Engineering at Dong-Eui University, was selected in the machinery and materials category of the ‘2022 Busan Regional Research and Development Excellence Awards’ hosted by the Busan Institute of Science and Technology Enterprise Promotion (BISTEP) and received the Busan Mayor’s Award.

The award ceremony and presentation of excellent achievements were held on the 20th at the opening ceremony of Busan R&D Week at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Haeundae.

Professor Jeong contributed significantly to the industry through his research on ‘Development of Advanced Functional Aluminum Nano Surfaces,’ including the development of high-performance aluminum surface treatment technology and the registration of domestic and international patents for fundamental corrosion prevention technologies.

He was also recognized for his contribution to the establishment of Dong-Eui University’s technology holding company by evaluating the technology value of two domestic patents registered in 2021.

Busan City and BISTEP annually select outstanding achievements in four major fields?machinery and materials, marine and clean energy, intelligent information and life care, and new industries and convergence?targeting regular researchers and young researchers conducting Busan City research and development projects, awarding the Busan Mayor’s Award and the Busan Institute of Science and Technology Enterprise Promotion Director’s Award.
