'Election Law Violation' Lee Jeong-seon, Gwangju Superintendent of Education, Sent to Prosecution
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Lee Jeong-seon, Superintendent of Education in Gwangju, who is accused of violating the Public Official Election Act, has been referred to the prosecution.
The Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit of the Gwangju Police Agency sent Lee Jeong-seon, Superintendent of Education in Gwangju, to the prosecution without detention on the 25th on charges of conducting pre-election campaigning (violation of the Public Official Election Act).
Additionally, four people including a campaign staff member and supporters from Lee’s election camp were sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of providing meals to dozens of supporters (third-party donation act).
Lee is accused of conducting pre-election campaigning by appealing for support at a restaurant where dozens of voters gathered a few days before the official election campaign began during the recent local elections.
