"Hansuwon to Sign Poland Nuclear Power Plant Construction Project Within 2 Weeks" ... Local Media Report
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) is expected to sign a Letter of Intent (LOI) related to a new nuclear power plant construction project with Poland by the end of this month.
According to local Polish media sources such as Rzeczpospolita and Sputnik News on the 20th, Polish Energy Group (PGE), Polish private energy company ZEPAK, and KHNP are scheduled to sign the new nuclear power plant construction project within the next two weeks.
The media reported that this joint consortium will jointly promote a project to build a nuclear power plant on the site of the Patn?w lignite power plant in Poland, which ZEPAK plans to cease operations by the end of 2024.
There is speculation that this project may be separate from the case where KHNP decided to participate in the construction of six nuclear reactors with a capacity of 6 to 9 GW in the Lubiatowo-Kopalino area and submitted a business proposal in April.
