Jeju Fire Station Conducts 'Emergency First Aid Training' for Jeju Yeo Sang Faculty
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Fire Station (Chief Ko Jae-woo) announced on the 20th that it conducted on-site first aid training for 60 faculty members of Jeju Girls' Commercial High School on the 19th.
This training focused on quickly identifying types of emergency patients through actual 119 emergency call cases, recognizing brief seizure symptoms or irregular cardiac arrest breathing during acute cardiac arrest situations, and enabling early cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The main training content included how to report to 119, understanding the emergency medical system and types of emergency patients, CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) usage, airway obstruction treatment, ambulance (fire truck) lane clearance promotion, and experiencing initial first aid methods before the arrival of emergency responders in emergency situations.
Chief Ko Jae-woo stated, “All faculty members should regularly receive first aid training such as CPR, so we expect their ability to respond to emergencies to steadily improve. In cases of witnessed cardiac arrest patients, anyone should be able to promptly activate the emergency medical system and develop initial first aid skills. We will increase opportunities for focused and repeated training.”
Applications for on-site fire safety education can be made by contacting the Prevention and Safety Division of Jeju Fire Station.
