Jeju Fishing Boat Capsizing Search Continues on Day 2, Missing Persons Still Unfound
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Despite the second night search by the Coast Guard on the 2nd regarding the capsizing of a Jeju vessel, news of the 4 missing persons has not yet been received.
According to Seogwipo Coast Guard on the 20th, the search team conducted a night search using a total of 35 ships from 5 PM the previous day until 6 AM on the day, but no missing persons were found.
Underwater searches were conducted twice, and three aircraft were deployed three times at night, dropping 110 flares to extensively search the accident area. It is known that entry into the cabin was impossible due to strong whirlpools.
On the third day of the search, 38 ships will be deployed to expand the search area, and divers will be sent to install additional lift bags and conduct underwater searches of the wheelhouse and inside the vessel.
In addition, seven aircraft will be deployed to continue the extensive search operations.
