Kang Joo-mi and Kim Sun-wook Collaborate in Classical Performance in Brussels, Belgium

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Noh Kyung-jo] Violinist Clara Jumi Kang and pianist Sunwook Kim will perform together in Brussels, Belgium.
The Korean Cultural Center in Belgium and the European Union announced on the 18th that they will invite the two performers to hold a duo recital at Flagey, Belgium's representative classical music venue, on the 19th (local time).
In this concert, they will perform Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 1 and Respighi's Violin Sonata in B minor. To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Belgian composer C?sar Franck, they will also perform his Violin Sonata in A major together.
Clara Jumi Kang has won international competitions such as the Indianapolis Competition and the Sendai Competition, and is currently actively performing with orchestras including the Cologne Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic.
Sunwook Kim gained worldwide recognition by becoming the youngest winner in 40 years and the first Asian winner at the Leeds International Piano Competition at the age of 18. He is currently performing with the Berlin Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Kim Jae-hwan, director of the Cultural Center, said, "Interest in Korean performers is hotter than ever locally, following cellist Choi Ha-young's win at the Queen Elisabeth Competition," and added, "We will actively support the local activities of Korean musicians."
