View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Ha Jongdae (57), a former Dong-A Ilbo and Channel A journalist, has been appointed as the president of the Korea Policy Broadcasting Corporation.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 18th that Ha Jongdae will be appointed as the president of the Korea Policy Broadcasting Corporation. His term is three years, from the 18th until October 17, 2025.
Newly appointed president Ha Jongdae graduated from Jeonju Youngsaeng High School and Seoul National University with a degree in Journalism. He has served as head of the Digital Integrated News Center at Channel A, social affairs chief, international affairs chief, and editorial writer at Dong-A Ilbo.
He has accumulated over 30 years of rich experience and expertise in broadcasting and journalism, including working as Dong-A Ilbo’s Beijing correspondent.
Additionally, he served as a senior reporter at Channel A’s news headquarters and earlier this year was the co-chairman of the election campaign committee for presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol in Jeonbuk.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism explained that the Korea Policy Broadcasting Corporation is a “responsible management institution” under the Act on the Establishment and Operation of Responsible Management Institutions, which grants administrative and financial autonomy to the head of the institution and holds them accountable for performance. This appointment was made through an open recruitment process conducted by the Ministry of Personnel Management in accordance with relevant laws.

A ministry official said, “Based on the new president’s extensive knowledge and deep understanding gained from domestic and international media fields, we expect the Korea Policy Broadcasting Corporation to demonstrate its capabilities in advancing and innovating as a policy communication channel connecting the government and the public.”
