NCCK Human Rights Award Nominee Recommendations Open, Accepting Submissions Until Next Month 11
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK) is accepting nominations for the 36th NCCK Human Rights Award ahead of Human Rights Day (December 10). Established in 1987, the NCCK Human Rights Award is the oldest human rights award in Korea.
The nominees should be individuals or organizations that have contributed to the promotion of human rights and democratic development in society. Applications will be accepted via email and mail until the 11th of next month.
An NCCK official stated, “Please recommend individuals or organizations dedicated to establishing the dignity and human rights of all people made in the image of God in various fields,” and added, “We express our deep respect, support, and encouragement, albeit modest, to all those working to promote human dignity and rights in diverse areas of society.”

Past recipients (organizations) include Mr. Oh Yeonsang, who contributed to uncovering the truth behind the ‘Park Jong-cheol water torture incident’ (awarded in 1987), and the Solidarity for the Legislation of the Anti-Discrimination Act, dedicated to realizing an equal society (awarded in 2021).
