[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 17th that the 2nd Jeongeup International Art Festival will be held at the Jeongeup City Living Culture Center until the 25th of next month.
The international art festival, held under the theme "Relative and Absolute Truth: Festival of Peace," was organized to provide opportunities for enjoying culture and arts to citizens in rural areas with relatively weak cultural environments and to promote regional cultural development.
In particular, this exhibition, which carries the meaning of rediscovering world peace and everyday peace, focuses on sharing the various aspects of "peace" as viewed by artists from around the world.
A total of 180 artists from 54 countries, including Elsa Victorios (USA/Colombia) and Alfonso Caputo (Italy), are participating in this exhibition.
More than 160 carefully selected works, in various genres such as painting, photography, and sculpture, each expressing their own meaning and color under the theme of peace, will be showcased.
The exhibition is free for all Jeongeup citizens to visit, and admission is possible every hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Jeongeup City Living Culture Center or the City Hall Culture and Arts Department.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, "I am pleased that an exhibition where various artworks from around the world can be viewed in a rural area with a relatively weak cultural environment is being held," and added, "I hope everyone has a meaningful time communicating with people worldwide through art and reflecting on the meaning of peace through this exhibition."
