Lotte Department Store Opens 'N32', a Specialty Store for Foam Mattresses... "Targeting the Sleep Market"

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Department Store announced on the 17th that it has opened ‘N32,’ a specialized foam mattress store in collaboration with Simmons, at 13 major stores including the main store, Jamsil branch, and Gangnam branch.
N32 is characterized by excellent breathability and elasticity, significantly improving the heat retention and sagging issues that were pointed out as drawbacks of existing foam mattresses. The flagship product, the N32 foam mattress, is divided into three types?Soft, Regular, and Hard?based on the level of cushioning and support, and is available in various sizes such as Super Single, Queen, Large King, and King of King. A Sleep Master is stationed at the store to recommend customized products for each customer, and promotions including special discounts and gifts based on purchase amounts will be held until the 30th of next month.
Reflecting customers’ high interest in high-end bedroom furniture, Lotte Department Store is focusing on continuously strengthening its premium bed content. Following the opening of Duxiana, one of the world’s four major luxury mattress brands, at the Jamsil branch in October last year, the Ace Heritz store opened at the Dongtan branch in August this year. In the future, various premium bed brands, including Hypnos, a bed brand used by the British royal family, will be introduced through pop-up stores.
According to Lotte Department Store, the average bed purchase amount per person from January to September this year increased by 30% compared to the same period before the COVID-19 pandemic (January to September 2019). In particular, the 2030 generation, who are the main drivers of the “hotel staycation” trend and often purchase beds for wedding preparations, had an average bed purchase amount per person nearly twice as high as the average across all age groups.

A Lotte Department Store official said, “N32, launched exclusively with Simmons, plans to expand beyond the current foam mattress category to become a lifestyle brand encompassing the entire sleep market,” adding, “We will continue to strive to introduce new content that reflects customers’ diverse sleep needs.”
