Gallup "President Yoon's Approval Rating Drops 1%p to 28%... Democratic Party Rises 6%p to 36%"
President Yoon's Approval Rating Falls Below 30% for 4th Consecutive Week
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his national administration failed to continue its upward reversal from last week and declined again. Amid the ongoing National Assembly audit, the Democratic Party of Korea recorded a significant increase in support.
According to Gallup's regular survey conducted from the 11th to the 13th (a telephone interview survey of 1,002 adults aged 18 and over nationwide), 28% of respondents evaluated President Yoon's performance as "doing well," while 63% evaluated it as "doing poorly." Compared to last week's survey, approval dropped by 1 percentage point, and disapproval remained the same as last week.
Gallup explained, "President Yoon's job approval rating has remained below 30% for four consecutive weeks, while disapproval has exceeded 60% during the same period," adding, "The response that the president is currently 'doing well' is prominent among People Power Party supporters (68%) and those aged 60 and over (48%), whereas the response that he is 'doing poorly' is prominent among Democratic Party supporters (92%) and those in their 40s (82%)."
By political orientation, job approval ratings were 53% among conservatives, 24% among moderates, and 8% among progressives.
Those who positively evaluated President Yoon's job performance cited reasons such as "national defense and security" (11%), "diplomacy" (9%), "overall good performance" (8%), "hardworking and doing his best" (7%), "principled and firm stance," and "overcoming the previous administration" (both 6%), and "truthfulness, honesty, and no lies" (4%). Those who evaluated him negatively cited reasons such as "lack of experience, qualifications, incompetence" (15%), "diplomacy" (13%), "overall poor performance" (10%), "neglecting the economy and people's livelihood," "careless remarks," "authoritarian and unilateral" (all 6%), "lack of truthfulness and trust," and "personnel matters" (both 5%).

In the party support survey, the Democratic Party of Korea held 38%, the People Power Party 32%, independents 25%, and the Justice Party 3%. The Democratic Party rose by 6 percentage points compared to last week, while the People Power Party fell by 1 percentage point.
